Schedule: Spring 2026
Friday, 5-7pm and Saturday, 4-6pm

Each course runs as a series of eight sessions twice a week, thoughtfully designed to balance exploration, hands-on creativity, and meaningful reflection. Classes are 120 minutes long, with the first half dedicated to guided discovery and discussion, and the second half focused on imaginative, student-led projects. Whether your child is an eager question-asker, a budding writer, or a quiet thinker with ideas waiting to bloom, every session is built to inspire curiosity, confidence, and joy in the learning process.

In this micro 4-part series, children will develop the tools of strong public speakers by studying the voices, ideas, and presence of some of history’s most influential figures. Across eight sessions, we’ll explore the powerful oratory of Frederick Douglass, the fearless advocacy of Susan B. Anthony, and the expressive skills sharpened through drama and improv workshops. Along the way, students will learn how great speakers use words, posture, pacing, and presence to move an audience.

Through speaking exercises, collaborative performance activities, and targeted writing workshops, students will build confidence in both what they say and how they say it.

More than simply reciting speeches, children will practice structuring arguments, strengthening body language, and thinking on their feet. The goal is for each student to leave with greater poise, clearer expression, and a stronger sense of their own voice.

April: Symphony of Sound

Symphony of Sound is an 8-session journey into Western classical music designed to help students recognize, interpret, and confidently speak about one of the world’s most influential cultural traditions.

Through the works of great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven, students will explore how music expresses structure, emotion, and storytelling across time. Each class combines guided listening, discussion, and creative activities that train the ear to identify the distinct sounds and personalities of symphony instruments. Students will understand how composers use them like flavors, layering and combining them to create mood and meaning. By the end of the course, students will be able to listen more attentively, recognize key musical patterns, and articulate what they hear with clarity and confidence.

May: Mighty Geology

This month brings an 8-session exploration of our planet’s past, present, and dynamic inner workings, guided by the discoveries of pioneering scientists like Richter and Hutton. Students will uncover how Earth has changed over billions of years—from the formation of rocks and fossils to the movement of tectonic plates, earthquakes, and volcanoes—through a blend of storytelling, hands-on investigation, and visual models. Each class focuses on a big idea, such as deep time, Earth’s structure, and the forces that shape landscapes. Every session helps students understand how scientists piece together evidence to explain processes we cannot directly see. By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize patterns in Earth’s systems, interpret clues from rocks and fossils, and explain how our planet is constantly changing beneath our feet.
